About Almanta Films

Recently created in 2025, Almanta Films is the outcome of Alejandra Lopez’s almost 20 years experience in cinema and audiovisual production.

Mexican by birth and soul and French by citizenship and love, Alejandra started her carreer as a Line Producer in 2006, working alongside to then young mexican cinema talents as Francisco X. Rivera, and David Pablos.

After completing a degree in Mass Media and Communication Sciences and going for a second degree in Social Anthropology oriented to visual anthropology, she contributed to the production department of multiple films both short and feature lenght, including acclaimed director Maria Novaro’s 2010 feature “Las Buenas Hierbas”. In 2010, she was the executive producer behind the obtention of the Production Grant for First Feature of CCC for Hatuey Vivero’s project, “My Universe in Lower Case”, premiered in 2011 at Morelia Film Festival.

In 2019 she completed a certification program in Line Production for Film and TV at the European Film Production Centre in Paris.

She then joined Ikki Films, a multi-awarded film French production company in 2019, where she collaborated under many roles including production manager for more than twenty short films, amongst them, 2022 “Granny’s Sexual Life” by Urska Djukic and Emilie Pigeard, Best Short Film Award at the European Academy Awards and French Academy Cesar’s winner for Best Animated Short Film and “Yuck!” shortlisted to the Oscars Academy Awards and winner for Cesar’s Academy Award Best Animated Short Film in 2025. And as production supervisor for Fernando Colin Roque’s 2021, documentary “La Vida es un Carnaval”, premiered at Guanajuato Film Festival.

As a freelance, she produced content for many clients including BBC, various NGOs, TV Chains, cultural and art institutions including a documentary for Hilario Galguera’s Gallery opening exhibition: “Mors Dei: The Death of God” by Damien Hirst and more recently, “Before Brabant” a 77 minute long 2D animated film, directed by Aberto “Chino” Rodriguez under the comission of Oriens Music (Germany) which premiered at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2024 as part of the CCP Children’s Biennale.

In 2021, Alejandra started her career as an Executive Producer in France, selecting, developping and producing documentary features under the wing of Ikki Films.

One of those projects is awarded director Maria Silvia Esteve’s second documentary feature “Mailin”, premiering at IDFA’s 2025 International Competition.
